Weather - Hot air from Andalusia also for Germany

Jet stream brings heat wave to large parts of Europe

As you can see in our animation, the jet stream will scoop hot air from Andalusia over large parts of Europe next week.

From Sunday the next big heatwave will build up in Andalusia. In Seville, the thermometer then rises to 44 °C. On Monday, 45 °C are already forecast. On Tuesday it will also be hot in Extremadura, where 44 °C are announced. The jet stream then scoops this hot air northward, and the swirl then delivers a heatwave to large parts of Europe next week. Next Wednesday, 43 °C will be announced in the south-west of France. On Thursday there will be up to 39 °C in the southwest of Germany. At the end of our 10-day forecast, 37 °C are possible in Berlin on August 25 and 39 °C in the Po Valley (Italy).
