The Christmas season is of course also a time for travel and vacation. While the water levels continue to rise and it is stormy in Germany, a high pressure situation in Spain continues to ensure calm weather without precipitation.
Our trend forecast for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day brings Germany another storm, although the rain could also fall as snow. In Andalusia, the high pressure area is still on the agenda and there is no rain in our trend. There are now reports that the Andalusian state government is busy bringing tankers with water from Lisbon to Malaga. A tanker costs up to 700,000 euros. Drilling is also planned to take place in the province of Malaga in order to activate every last drop of groundwater. There are still no plans for sewage treatment plants, although these would be particularly important for irrigating agriculture in the Axarquia. Statistically, intense rainfall can still occur in Andalusia until the end of March. But up to 400 m of rain would have to fall to fill the reservoirs again.
