Weather in Malaga - High pressure weather conditions are setting in

Drought - Rain brings no relief

And again there was some rain in the last few days, but unfortunately very little. The reservoir for the Axarquia, La Viñuela, reports a volume of 7.45%. The reservoir for the city of Malaga, Limonero, reports a volume of 21.13%.

With these numbers you wouldn´t survive the summer of 2024. There are wild and expensive plans by the state government to transport fresh water to the port of Malaga in tankers, but the truth is that the government sends a daily prayer to heaven.

Now the brutal revenge is being taken for the fact that EU funds were misused and the construction of sewage treatment plants was once again negligently prevented. The treated wastewater could be used for agriculture, golf courses, city gardens, street cleaning, etc.

A look at our 10-day forecast shows that a high-pressure weather situation will develop. Means no rain. If there is not at least 400 mm of rain by the end of March, then there will be a tough battle for water distribution on the Costa del Sol in the summer. This would be a cruel situation for residents, industry and tourism. Tourism in particular would then collapse massively, a tragedy for the already troubled region.
