Weather Spain - hot and high humidity

The Spanish summer at its best

The summer month of August is feared in Spain. It is hot across the country and there is hardly any wind on the coasts, but high humidity. Added to this are the warm water temperatures, which also do not really provide any cooling. Here are the current water temperatures from Friday morning: Malaga buoy 25 °C - Cabo Gata buoy 27 °C - Valencia buoy 28.2 °C - Palma de Mallorca buoy 28.4 °C - Barcelona buoy 28 °C

This weekend there are heat warnings for Spain across the country. In Madrid you are sweating with highs of 38 °C, in Zaragoza 40 °C and in Valladolid 39 °C. In Benidorm it is a sweltering 32 °C.

In Andalusia it is of course a constant +- 40 °C in the hinterland. On the Costa del Sol, August is of course particularly unpleasant. In Malaga the thermometer rises to 30 °C, but with humidity of up to 86% and no wind at all, this is no fun. You sweat just sitting in your chair. At night the thermometer rarely falls below 25 °C, which leads to sleepless nights for people without air conditioning and is physically draining.

It is currently pleasant on Gran Canaria. Wind from the north means the thermometer in Las Palma de Gran Canaria does not rise higher than 23 °C.

Then let´s take a look at our trend forecast: Tuesday and Wednesday next week only heat in Extremadura and Andalusia. Then turbo summer again towards next weekend. In Seville, Cordoba and Jaen 44 °C is forecast again.
