The meteorological start of spring was on March 1, 2025. But there has been rain in Andalusia since the beginning of the month. Storm Jana and Storm Konrad caused flooding and landslides.
The good news is that the reservoirs are now full again; in Marbella, the reservoir even had to be drained. So there will probably be no restrictions on water consumption this summer.
But it´s not over yet, and the famous Andalusian spring is still a long way off. Storm Laurence will be hitting Andalusia starting Monday, and we expect waves up to 6 meters high on the Costa del la Luz (Cadiz).
Costa del Sol:
Currently, we have the following rainfall forecast for Monday and Tuesday: Marbella 44 mm of rain, Fuengirola 49 mm of rain, Malaga 42 mm of rain and Nerja 38 mm of rain.
Granada
Much more snow is also expected in the Andalusian Sierra Nevada; this amount of snow has rarely been seen in a March.
