The extreme August heat is over, and cooler air is steadily moving from the North Atlantic towards the Iberian Peninsula.
This Friday, Vigo will only have a maximum of 20°C, and a maximum of 22°C is forecast for the weekend. This weekend will also see the start of the large wave of holidaymakers returning from the south to Madrid. Temperatures in the Spanish capital will reach +- 30°C over the weekend. Today's warmest temperatures will likely be in Valencia, with a maximum of 36°C. Seville and Córdoba will only reach 33°C. On Saturday, we have 36°C forecast in Seville and Murcia. On Sunday, temperatures on the Spanish mainland will probably reach 35°C only in isolated cases in Andalusia.
From Sunday afternoon, we expect some heavy thunderstorms in northeastern Spain.
