Airport passenger numbers continue to rise

In August 2025, Malaga Airport set another historic record for passenger numbers. With 2,862,372 passengers, the figure increased by 7.9% compared to August 2024. From January to August 2025, Malaga Airport reported 18,123,696 passengers, an increase of 7.8% compared to the same period in 2024. This places Malaga in fourth place among the busiest airports in Spain, behind Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, ​​and Madrid.

Palma de Mallorca remained in third place in August 2025, thanks to the strong summer months, with 4,700,495 passengers, an increase of 2.4%. From January to August, Palma de Mallorca Airport handled 23,877,784 passengers, an increase of 1.8% compared to 2024.

In August 2025, Alicante Airport ranked fifth with 2,098,522 passengers (+6.9%), followed by Ibiza Airport in sixth place with 1,481,444 passengers (+1.1%), and Gran Canaria in seventh place with 1,294,008 passengers (+6.2%).
