Last month broke records: It was the warmest April in Spain's historical records (since 1962), according to the Spanish meteorological agency Aemet.

With an average temperature of 15.1 °C in Spain, it surpassed the previous warmest April of 2023 by a tenth.

April 2026 was 3.2 °C warmer than the average for the period 1991–2020. This gave it an exceptionally warm character. Temperatures remained above average for virtually the entire month, except for a brief period between the 11th and 13th.
