An Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from Abu Dhabi touched down on Runway 12 at Malaga Airport.

Then something happened that we’ve never seen in all our years of watching aircraft operations: the pilots exited the runway via HE-3. Just moments later, the airport fire brigade vehicles appeared behind the aircraft. Was there a connection? Was there any danger?

A Malaga Tower air traffic controller gave us the answer straight away: "Etihad most likely had a stronger-than-expected tailwind during landing. The fire brigade was simply carrying out its routine runway inspection."

So there was no connection and no safety issue!!
