Portugal faces an extremely hot day today. In the middle of the country, the red warning level applies and the thermometer rises to 46 °C in the afternoon. Even in Lisbon, 37 °C is expected today.

The forest fire risk is extremely high and there is already a major fire in the southwest of Portugal (southeast of Zambujeira do Mar).
