More than 22 million passengers at Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport closes 2023 with a new record

Malaga Airport reports a new record for 2023. In December 2023, the airport registered 1,465,459 passengers which amounts to a 28,9 % increase compared to 2019 (before the pandemic).

From January to December 2023, Malaga Airport registered 22,344,373 passengers which is a plus of 12,5 % compared to 2019.

As a consequence, Malaga Airport ranks fourth among the most frequented Spanish airports; right after Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and, of course, Madrid.

By the way, Mallorca Airport registered a total of 31,105,987 passengers in 2023 (+ 4,7 % compared to 2019).

Barcelona and Madrid Airport both registered decreases of 5,3 % and 2,5 % respectively in 2023 (compared to 2019).

In 2023, Alicante ranked 5th among the most frequented Spanish airports with 15,747,678 passengers. Gran Canaria Airport ranked 6th with 13,961,638 passengers.

Valencia Airport registered a big plus of 16,5 % and ranks 8th with 9,948,141 passengers.
