Málaga - Costa del Sol Airport (IATA - Code: AGP, ICAO - Code: LEMG) is located in the Province of Málaga, in Andalusia in the South of Spain. It is the main airport for all resorts on the Costa del Sol and is also used by the Spanish Air Force (Base Aérea de Málaga).

Malaga Airport reports a new record for 2023: From January to December 2023, Malaga Airport registered 22,344,373 passengers which is a plus of 12,5 % compared to 2019. Malaga Airport is the fourth most frequented Spanish airport: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in 2023 with 60,220,984. It is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 49,909,544 and Palma de Mallorca, with 31,105,987 passengers.

Málaga Airport is situated at 7 km southwest of Málaga's city centre and 6 km north of Torremolinos. The airport is located near the coast of the Mediterranean between the two cities. It is the main airport of the Community of Andalusia and is also considered as the main entrance or exit gate for tourism to/from the Costa del Sol and Andalusia.

Nearest airports: Granada Airport is only 1 hours away, the airports of Seville and Jerez 2 hours and the Gibraltar airport 1,5 hours.

The main runway has an alignment of 13/31. The 3,200 m long runway is all the year open and handles the majority of aircraft movements.

This runway was built as part of the expansion work in 2010. The runway has a length of 2,750 m ans is used as a secondary runway.
