The meteorological winter ends in the province of Malaga with a heavy thunderstorm. Over the course of the week, our forecast that the low pressure system in the Serrania de Ronda zone and in Los Reales de Sierra Bermeja would bring the most precipitation has become more certain.
Accordingly, we set off in the direction of Jubrique with our OB-Van and were not disappointed. A strong thunderstorm brought us heavy rain, hail and snow at the highest altitudes. The MA-8301 road between Jubrique and Estepona even had to be closed due to ice. We had to turn around with our OB-Van at the coordinates -5.1831 / 36.5504.
In our forecast, we had up to 100 mm of rain for Jubrique. Currently, we have measured 80.5 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Now that´s what we call a perfect landing.
On X we uploaded short videos in real time, which were then used in the main news yesterday evening by the national television channels La Sexta, RTVE and Antena 3.
