Malaga Airport on Track to a New Record

Passenger Numbers 1st Quarter 2025 Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport closed 2024 with a new all-time record of 24,923,774 passengers.

Will the 25 million passenger mark be broken this year? The signs are pointing in the right direction. In March 2025, Malaga Airport recorded 1,897,983 passengers, a whopping 8.3% increase compared to March 2024. In the first quarter of 2025, Malaga Airport recorded a total of 4,790,078 passengers, a 6% increase compared to the first quarter of 2024. This clearly shows that Malaga Airport is on track and will likely set another new all-time record this year.

It is interesting to note that Malaga Airport already ranked third among the busiest airports in the first quarter (behind Madrid and Barcelona). In the past, the airports of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Tenerife Sur were at the top of the list during the winter months.

So, Malaga and the Costa del Sol are still right on trend, and what we predicted in 2013 has come true. Malaga is and remains the booming city in Europe, and there seems to be no limit to its future.
