Malaga Airport is the gateway to Andalusia for tourists from all over the world. In March, Malaga Airport recorded another historic record with 2,076,522 passengers, representing an increase of 9.4% compared to March 2025. This is particularly remarkable considering we are still talking about the winter flight schedule.
In the first three months of 2026, the airport registered 5,092,675 passengers, an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
Malaga ranks third among the busiest airports in Spain, behind Madrid and Barcelona.
The March figures are also noteworthy because Alicante Airport moved into fourth place and Palma de Mallorca Airport into fifth, pushing Gran Canaria Airport down to sixth.
In March 2026, Alicante recorded a total of 1,609,368 passengers (+9.1%), Palma de Mallorca 1,594,849 passengers (2.8%) and Gran Canaria 1,498,110 passengers (+0.6%).
