In the last few weeks there has also been little rain in northern Italy, and the fear of drought was omnipresent. Well, as we announced, severe storms have led to severe flooding and landslides, especially in the Emilia-Romagna region (Bologna).
The process of declaring a national emergency has been initiated. Means that civil defense is mobilized and can massively intervene and help.
Up to 160 l/m² of rain were measured between Bologna and the coastal city of Ravenna. The fire brigade has already had to carry out 500 interventions.
In Fontanelice, a house was completely destroyed after a landslide, at least 1 man was killed.
