The daySunrise, sunset and day length
For many cities we show sunrise and sunset to the minute in local time — plus how long the day is and by how many minutes it differs from yesterday. A yearly curve shows at a glance how the days grow longer until the solstice and shorter again afterwards.
Handy for anyone who wants an early start, is planning the sunset, or simply wants to know how much daylight is left today.
The special lightTwilight, golden and blue hour
Between day and night lies twilight — we show all three stages: civil (still bright enough to read), nautical and astronomical (only then is it truly dark). Especially important for photography: the golden hour with warm, soft light and the blue hour shortly after sunset.
We also show which direction the sun rises and sets in, and how high it stands at noon — useful for finding the best spot for a photo.
