What are livecams?Mostly live video, sometimes a snapshot

Most of our cameras deliver a continuous video stream in HLS format (HTTP Live Streaming), which you watch like a YouTube video directly in your browser or in the app. Some cameras instead take a photo every few minutes — a JPEG snapshot.

On the map you always see a current preview image; one click opens the live stream. For every camera we also keep the past 24 hours as a time lapse — handy to see how the weather developed over the day.
