The new storm season begins on 1 September, marking the start of the meteorological autumn.
Looking back at the 2025/2026 season, Spain experienced 18 named storms and one DANA. DANA Alice opened the season on 7 October 2025, while Storm Therese brought it to an end on 16 March 2026.
Now, the new list of names for the 2026/2027 storm season has been released.
The naming of storms and DANA is closely coordinated between the national meteorological services of Spain, France, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg and Andorra.
But when and where will the next storms or cold drops (DANA) develop?
