DANA - Valencia reports 155 deaths
A cold drop, known in Spain as DANA, is a very complicated weather situation and is difficult to predict. On October 29, this will be particularly evident in the region around Valencia.

Our ICON forecast predicted 178 mm of rain, which is actually a red warning, but in the end it was 500 mm of rain. Of course, this amount of rain causes massive flooding and of course this ends in a catastrophe in a densely populated region.
This morning, Spain reported 158 deaths as a result of the storm, 155 of them from the Valencia region.
Thousands are currently still without electricity and water, looting is taking place and emergency services are at their limits. The socialist government in Madrid is having difficulty coordinating this crisis and the anger on the ground is correspondingly great. Yesterday, the socialist head of government Sanchez flew in for a few minutes and promised to help. Sanchez also promised to help the victims of the volcanic eruption (3 years ago) on La Palma, who are still waiting.
