The previous June record dates back to June 27, 1965, when it reached 45.2°C in San Pablo in the Province of Seville.

This June will also certainly be the hottest June on the Spanish mainland since weather records began.

But it was brutally hot in other places as well. Montoro in the Andalusian province of Cordoba reported a high of 44°C, and Seville Airport recorded 43.1°C. Alconchel (Extremadura) recorded 43.5°C.
