Locally severe weather in Valencia
The arrival of ex-Hurricane Gabrielle in Spain was eagerly awaited on Sunday. Different weather models produced very different forecasts.

Note that there were no severe weather on the Costa del Sol; the GFS weather model clearly had the edge over ICON. There wasn't a single drop of rain in Malaga.
The situation was different in eastern Spain. Valencia city reported 110 mm of rain per square meter, and in Barx (50 km south of Valencia), there was a truly severe storm on Monday, with 239 mm of rain per square meter causing massive flooding.
Note: Maps and reports were circulating on social media predicting up to 735 mm of rain south of Cullera and even claiming to have detected a DANA.
