According to the latest short-term and 10-day trend forecasts, it will get brutally hot again in Andalusia and Extremadura. For example, in Seville, the Andalusian capital, daily highs are expected to reach between 43°C and 44°C, rising to 45°C from Sunday onwards, and the trend suggests that temperatures could even reach 46°C on Wednesday (July 9, 2026).
According to the current GFS trend forecast, this would indicate a prolonged heat wave.
The current daily record high in Spain dates back to August 14, 2021. La Rambla (in the Andalusian province of Cordoba) recorded a peak of 47.6°C.
