Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport continues its remarkable growth. More than 22.1 million passengers travelled through the airport during the first nine months of 2026, confirming its position as Spain's fourth-busiest airport. And thanks to meteo365.es, aviation enthusiasts, holidaymakers and local residents can experience the action live, 24 hours a day.

Nearly 2.8 million passengers in September alone

The latest official figures released by Spanish airport operator Aena on 13 October reveal another impressive month for Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP).

In September 2026, the airport welcomed 2,805,764 passengers, an increase of 6.8% compared with September 2025.

That represents an average of approximately 93,525 passengers every single day.

Aircraft movements also increased. During September, Málaga recorded 18,766 take-offs and landings, an increase of 6.3% compared with the same month last year.

The figures demonstrate that Málaga is no longer simply a destination associated with the traditional summer holiday season. The Costa del Sol continues to attract substantial international traffic well into autumn.

More than 22 million passengers, and the year is not over yet

Between January and September 2026, Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport handled an extraordinary 22,129,948 passengers, representing year-on-year growth of 6.6%.

During the same period, the airport recorded 151,305 aircraft movements.

These figures place Málaga firmly in fourth position among Spanish airports, behind Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat and Palma de Mallorca.

Perhaps even more impressive is Málaga's growth compared with the national average.

While passenger traffic across Aena's Spanish airport network increased by 4.1% during the first nine months of 2026, Málaga achieved growth of 6.6%.

This underlines the continued importance of the Costa del Sol as an international travel destination.

International visitors remain the driving force

International connections are particularly important to Málaga's success.

In September alone, more than 2.38 million passengers travelled on international commercial flights, an increase of 8.7% compared with September 2025.

The United Kingdom remained Málaga's largest international market, followed by Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and France.

These connections are essential not only for traditional beach tourism but also for city breaks, golf holidays, cultural tourism, second-home owners and the many international residents living along the Costa del Sol.

For destinations such as Málaga, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona, the airport represents one of the region's most important gateways to the world.

But what do these impressive passenger and aircraft figures actually look like in everyday airport operations?

This is where meteo365.es offers something particularly exciting.Visitors can watch aircraft approaching, landing and departing while observing the actual weather conditions at the airport.

From the first arrivals of the morning to evening departures, the webcam brings the atmosphere of one of Spain's busiest airports directly to your screen.

For aviation enthusiasts, it is an opportunity to observe real airport operations. For holidaymakers, it is a chance to see the airport where their Costa del Sol adventure begins.

And for friends and family waiting for someone to arrive, it adds an entirely new dimension to following a flight.

Live webcam meets interactive ADS-B flight tracking

The experience becomes even more interesting when our live webcam is combined with the interactive ADS-B flight map available through the meteo365.es airport dashboard.

Instead of simply watching an aircraft on a webcam, users can explore its position on the airport map and view available flight information.

The interactive display brings together aircraft movements, airport infrastructure and the live camera view in one environment.

Users can explore aircraft movements on the map while keeping the live runway webcam visible.

It is a fascinating way to connect digital flight-tracking information with what is actually happening at the airport.

Aviation weather is another essential part of the experience

Of course, aviation and weather are inseparable.

Wind direction, visibility, cloud cover, temperature and atmospheric pressure all play important roles in flight operations.

That is why meteo365.es also provides a dedicated aviation weather section covering more than 6,000 airports, airfields, heliports and offshore platforms worldwide.

Users can access important aviation weather information, including:
  • METAR: reported weather observations at airports.
  • TAF: aviation weather forecasts for airports.
  • SIGMET: significant meteorological warnings affecting aviation.
For Málaga, this means visitors can combine official aviation weather information with a live visual impression of the runway and an interactive flight map.

The webcam shows the conditions as they appear, the aviation weather reports provide measured and forecast information, and the ADS-B map helps users follow aircraft movements.

Together, these features offer a much richer understanding of airport activity.
