The live webcam looks from an elevated point across the bay of Benicàssim. Below, the sandy beach curves away along the coast, broken by several groynes reaching like rocky arms into the turquoise water. Behind it lie the promenade with its pines and palms, the town's housing and, in the background, the wooded ridges of the Desierto de las Palmas. Benicàssim lies on the Costa del Azahar in the province of Castellón. The town is known for two things: the historic summer villas along the seafront, built by wealthy families from the late nineteenth century onwards, and the FIB music festival, which draws tens of thousands every summer. Inland rises the Desierto de las Palmas nature park, whose Carmelite monastery offers a wide view over the coast. Through the camera you can see how busy the beach is, how the waves break against the groynes and what the weather on the Costa del Azahar is doing.
