The live weather webcam at La Misericordia beach shows the western stretch of the city of Málaga around the clock – a long, dark sandy beach at least as popular with locals as with holidaymakers. From here the view runs across the wide bay of Málaga, along the Paseo Marítimo Antonio Banderas promenade to the city skyline, the harbour and, on clear days, over to the Montes de Málaga and the peak of La Maroma. La Misericordia lies in the Carretera de Cádiz district, west of the harbour and the centre and only a few minutes from the airport. The beach is known for its authentic, quintessentially malagueño atmosphere: chiringuitos line the seafront, where the famous Espetos de Sardinas – sardines skewered and grilled over an open fire – are prepared. In the morning walkers and anglers move across the sand, in the afternoon the water's edge fills up, and at sunset the light bathes the bay in warm tones.
