About this webcam

The live weather webcam looks out from the control tower over the harbour basin of Puerto Sotogrande: at the pontoons lie hundreds of yachts, sailing and motor boats, and again and again a boat draws its line through the turquoise water. Along the shore stand the typical marina houses in yellow, ochre and terracotta; to one side a palm-lined mole leads to the small harbour beach, and beyond lie the gentle hills of the hinterland. Puerto Sotogrande is one of the largest and best-known marinas in Andalusia. It lies in the municipality of San Roque, a few nautical miles from the Strait of Gibraltar, and for many sailors it is the first or the last Mediterranean port of a voyage. Restaurants, bars and shops line the berths; in summer Sotogrande is also known for its polo and the golf courses around Valderrama. Through the camera you can see how busy the harbour is, whether boats are coming and going and what the weather is like on the western Costa del Sol. We also show the current readings from our weather station in the harbour – temperature, wind, gusts and air pressure in real time – along with the hourly forecast, the wave forecast and the tides. Ideal for trip planning, a harbour stroll or a look ahead to the weekend.
