The live weather webcam looks out over Playa Las Doradas in Mijas Costa – across the rows of straw parasols and loungers on the fine sand and onto the shallow, clear water. To the right, dark rock shelves lie close to the shore, where bathers stand knee-deep in the sea; yellow buoys mark the bathing zone, and beyond, the view reaches over the open Mediterranean to the hazy horizon. Playa Las Doradas belongs to Mijas Costa, the coastal strip of the municipality of Mijas, whose white mountain village of Mijas Pueblo sits high above the coast. The rock shelves right by the shore make the beach popular with snorkellers; along the coast the Senda Litoral connects the beaches of Mijas on boardwalks and promenades. When the wind blows onshore, the calm bathing bay turns into a favourite spot for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
