About this webcam

The live weather webcam looks south across the beach of Las Arenas onto the Port of Valencia. In front stand the palms of the promenade and a playground, and behind them loungers and sun umbrellas stretch across the wide sand to the water's edge. At the end of the beach the long rocky mole pushes into the sea; beyond it you can make out cranes, masts and harbour facilities – where the city beach ends and one of the largest ports of the Mediterranean begins. Playa de las Arenas adjoins the Malvarrosa to the south and is known for its historic balnearios and the row of restaurants along the Paseo Marítimo. Right behind lies the Marina de València, which hosted the America's Cup in 2007 and today is home to sailing, watersports and events. The commercial port beyond is one of the most important container ports in Europe – an unusual juxtaposition of bathing beach and major shipping. Through the camera you can see how busy the beach is, how the sea stands in front of the mole and what the weather is like over Valencia. We also show the hourly forecast, the wave forecast and the tides for the city, along with current weather warnings – ideal for a beach day or a stroll over to the marina.
